Fresh And Fruity Facials

Spa treatments that incorporate food have gained popularity over the years. This isn’t just hype, there are certain elements in food have proved beneficial for the skin. Calcium, for example, is found in apples, bananas, dairy products, and nuts, and has been known to improve bone and teeth development, as well as promote healthy skin, hair, and nails. When applied topically, foods containing calcium hydrates and nourishes dry, flaky skin. Another element, zinc, found in caviar, nuts, cocoa powder, and dairy products is useful in anti-aging and tissue rejuvenation treatments. I have often recommended zinc to my clients who have undergone surgery in order for their skin to heal faster. Ingredients like cocoa powder, bananas, wheat, nuts, and ginger include potassium that helps with muscle function and metabolism. When these foods are applied to the skin, they alleviate dryness and enhance elasticity.

Your skin is the body's largest respirator. It's a fragile, protective barrier that wards off disease, prevents infection, protects internal organs and releases toxins. Your skin is your body's first line of defense against the elements.

Spa Suite Spa

The New Home Sweet Home Away From Home

According to the 2006 Spa & Fitness Survey, more than half of the travelers are likely to use spas and fitness centers when they travel. Now, when it comes to me and most of the people I know, we select the hotels and resorts we stay at based one-hundred percent on the amenities that the resort has. Yes, we definitely require a spa. If the resort does not have a spa, then the secondary consideration is the day spas in the immediate area.

More and more travelers research their vacation and business travel needs on line. Travelers want to see where they will stay. Virtual tours, previous guest’s reviews and all inclusive packages, are becoming more critical in the decision of where to stay. No longer is it just the comfort of the bed and the quality of the restaurant. For consumers like me, want to see the spa. Resorts are now responding to the increase demands for spas, yoga, meditation, fitness and healthy food choices. Some resorts, are now offering spa-tacular spacious rooms. These spa suites incorporate luxury, convenience, comfort and a new level of feeling at home when you’re on the road.

Getaway for a day…

Everyone who has ever escaped to a day spa knows just how quickly an hour can fly by. For this reason, I prefer to enjoy a minimum of 2 one-hour services or at least a 90 minute massage or body treatment. 90 minute treatment will do a better job of stimulating your parasympathetic system. This means that you will achieve a deeper sense of relaxation and feeling of well being.

During massage therapy, your parasympathetic nervous system is activated. Activating the Parasympathetic nervous system allows the body to rejuvenate and restore its balance while it assists the lymphatic system to cleanse the metabolic waste that accumulates in the muscle tissues. This gives the body a chance to de-stress on the physical level.

When there is room on my calendar, I will do a mini spa stay. This can be from a full day at a day spa to a weekend spa package getaway at a local resort. These mini getaways can rejuvenate your body and mind in one to three euphoric days. The best part about it is you can avoid the traffic, lines and waiting at the airport. It is quick, convenient, very relaxing, and many resorts offer specials during their off season to local residence.

A few days away, might be just enough time to reaffirm your commitment to your own well-being. For many people, spas aren't just pampering, they're a prerequisite to staying healthy. A spa mini-getaway gives people that additional time you need to relax and revitalize.

To find your ideal itinerary, first determine what you want to take away from the experience, and then see what fits with your budget. Next look at all of the areas on Spavelous so you can see the spas, review their menu’s, read about the various treatments and select the right ones for you.
